This film is part of the Bradford College Collection and contains footage from a hairdressing class. The footage include shots of the students practicing on volunteers as well as shots of the hairdressing salon. The film opens in a large room which is set up like a hairdressing salon. There are numerous mirrors, basins and chairs set up with women having their hair done by student hairdressers; they wash, dry and style the women's hair. All of the students wear smocks. To one side of the room are several hair setting machines and each one is occupied by a woman. Following this are close up shots of one student hairdresser rinsing the shampoo out of the client's hair and another student putting curlers into her client's hair. There are lingering shots of the hairdresser doing this and then a brief shot of three of the clients under the heaters; they smile at the camera. A sign on a door reads `Ladies Hairdressing Saloon'. The door opens and there are some women sitting on chairs in the reception area, they smile at the camera. There is a brief shot which shows the entire hairdressing salon. A sign on another door reads `Gentlemen's Hairdressing Saloon'; there are some signs on the wall giving directions to different rooms. The final shot is of the hairdresser removing the curlers from her client's hair and brushing it.
