This is a film of workers at Thomas Staniforth & Co of Sheffield, scythe manufacturers, collecting their pay, and of officer workers arriving at work. The film opens with the door of the Enquiry Office for Thomas Staniforth & Co. Ltd.. Outside the workforce of men and women queue to collect something, possibly wage packets, being given out by a woman behind a table. Occasionally one of the workers shakes hands with a man behind the table. Many of the men have flat caps and the women wear flowery dresses and aprons. Two other men stand by observing. At the end the man shaking hands walks off. He is dressed in a three piece suit and matching hat. There is a gap in the film and then a car pulls up outside a building which looks like a row of terraced houses. Two men carrying suitcases and get out and go into the door of the Enquiry Office. A woman arrives also carrying a case. Then a man goes around the back of the building and up some stairs, followed by another man in uniform.
