The film shows crowds lining the street at Barker's Pool, with policemen on horses. The parade makes its way turning from Pinstone Street into Barker's Pool, with Dainties sweetshop in the background. The parade is led by majorettes and a Whitbread carriage being pulled by dray horses. There then follows a parade of lorry floats, beginning with one for 'Stanley' and many others, including one for milk. Next are the naval cadets, Firth Vickers, other steel company floats and one with a Riley Elf on it. Then Firth Brown, the ABC cinema, Monks building merchants, Co-op Divi savings, the Royal Air Force, Wards, and the University float with scooters following. In the background the Gaumont Cinema is showing 'A High Wind in Jamaica'. At the end the crowds disperse, with traffic going around Goodwin Fountain and with the Town Hall in the background.
