Title - "Your police force".
Title - West Yorkshire metropolitan police. Note - This title shows a spider diagram of the chain of command.
There is a shot of a front of the Evening Post, which has 'Murder in fog' as the headline. Still images then show various road accidents. Another newspaper cut out with the headline reading, 'Bomb-trial man sticks to torture story'. Another headline reads, "Kind' Robber strikes as girl, 13, lies hurt', followed by, 'Jealousy led to gun death of wife and lover - QC'.
The next sequence features the Elland Carnival in Leeds. The parade includes a brass band, floats with people in costumes, a percussion band, kids in costumes, an old fashioned horse drawn fire engine and a shot of the Carnival Queen as she sits on her float. Throughout there are shots of the police presence which includes mounted officers, squad cars following the procession and officers on foot.
The next sequence contains aerial shots of Leeds, paying particular attention to Elland Road Stadium and the surrounding areas.
There are then a sequence with still images of crime scenes and crash site, before violet tinged shots show a truck traveling down a road, a damaged phone box and other shots of that show vandalised properties. Reel one closes with yet more stills of crime scenes.
The second reel opens with a man adjusting a tripod on a mud track in front of a truck. A detective then wipes a truck window with a brush, revealing fingerprints. Beside the truck, two actors talk to each other, with one man pretending to be the driver while the other plays a detective.
The next sequence begins with a map that highlights the West Yorkshire region, which is then broken down into smaller designated zones. There are then credits from a miscellaneous West Yorkshire police film.
The next sequence shows a farmers market with a herd of cows in a pen and people - including a policeman - watching them from the fences. The action then turns to a filmed action sequence where a criminal hides from police canine on top offset of busted lockers. The film closes with a shot of the criminal being caught by the canine.
