This film is part of the Nowell collection and contains footage of a procession of many different youth jazz bands. They are all dressed in different types of costumes, carry banners and play a variety of instruments.
The film begins with a float driving down the road towards the camera and behind the float march several children's jazz bands. The children vary in ages and the leaders at the head of the procession twirl batons. The road is lined with people.
There is a procession of young girls and a couple of teenagers, wearing pink tutus and yellow dresses and the older girls are wearing heels and hot-pants. Following them is another marching band carrying a banner which reads `Southwick Wearsiders Jazz Band'.
The next shot is taken from behind the parade and captures the size of the crowds of spectators that have turned out to watch. More bands march along the road and one of the banners reads `Murton Juvenile Jazz Band 1963, happy wanderers'.
The camera has moved nearer to the bands and captures close ups of some of the members as they march past. A small convoy of men on mopeds drive past and a woman wearing a crown sits in an open top convertible.
Some of the banners have the years 1964 and 1966 on them and another banner reads `Billingham Juvenile Jazz band, Silvertones'.
