This film documents students from Bootham School doing conservations work at Moorlands Nature Reserve, just outside York. The work involved cleaning a stream and removing debris from a clearing. Title - Conservation af Moorlands. The film opens in overgrown Moorland surrounded by trees. A sequence then shows a man driving a red car down country roads, before stopping at a car park where a seemingly impossible amount of students exit the car. The students, wearing coats and hats, are presented with shovels and spades by the driver of the red car, who takes them from a shed. The students then enter the undergrowth and one boy pushes a wheelbarrow. The students then begin their conservation work by chopping up logs, using saws and wire cutters, and removing debris from the clearing. Starting a fire using small twigs, the students and teachers sit around having lunch. They then get back to work clearing out waste from a small stream. The group then pile into the car and drive away from the conservation site, and the final shot shows the areas they have cleared.
