This is a film made by Mexborough Technical College teacher George Spurr of his family at Christmas with children playing with their presents.
The film begins showing a Christmas tree and then George’s parents examining a turkey at their home at 15 Bolton Street, Denaby. There is a model wintry village with a sign for December, 1961. George‘s father polishes a silver cup on the mantelpiece. George’s nephew, David Tyas, his sister and cousin, are sitting at the table where they play a board game of Monopoly. George’s mother prepares food at the kitchen table while George’s father stands in front of the coal range. A young couple arrive, and George’s father strokes a corgi while a teenage boy feeds it biscuits as it stands on its hinds legs. Another woman joins them and also feeds the dog biscuits as it is being held by the boy.
The film ends with aschool trip to Norfolk, showing the titles only.
