The film begins with Gillian sitting on a chair, looking down onto a reflection of herself in a mirror she is holding. She is speaking to herself. She then looks up and smiles into the camera. The film then switches to show Adrian walking along a road in his school uniform and carrying a satchel. He goes to a stream, clambers over a country gate and walks along a road. A clock shows 10 past 9 am. He continues along a path towards a bridge where there is an advertising hoarding for Esso petrol (with the tiger). The clock now shows 4 minutes to 2 pm. Back home Adrian marks something on paper using a pen and a ruler (presumably homework). He climbs a tree, and then each of the places he has gone to are shown again in quick succession, and the film comes to an end.
