This is a film by an amateur filmmaker from Selby featuring his family, and especially his son Graham. The family visit an agricultural show during Whitsun 1975, with a traction engine display, the Farne Islands, and a Victorian Fair at Wheldrake.
The film begins with a sheep dog trial. There is a display of old agricultural machinery and a demonstration of an old steam powered bailing machine, and other old farming methods, along with other steam traction engines. This is followed by children re-enacting an historical battle, possibly the civil war. The film switches to two boys playing football near a wood, then one boy, Graham, playing football in his back garden in a red kit. Then the boy walks is walking along a street with his father and their pet dog. The family take a boat trip across the sea to visit the Longhorn lighthouse on the Farne Islands (the box states Holy Island). They then visit a Victorian Fair, showing traditional hand looms and Morris dancing. Two boys play with a leave attached to a string, and there is an open air performance on a stage. This is followed by demonstrations of old crafts, with people dressed up in historic costumes, and Morris dancing. The film finishes with the boy back in his garden with the dog.
