This is a film by an amateur filmmaker from Selby of a carnival and his family, especially his son Graham, on days out.
The film begins at a leisure park with a miniature steam railway. Then a boy, Graham, is on a climbing frame and swing.
The film switches to a carnival led by a Salvation Army Brass Band, followed by characters dressed as Bill and Ben, and lots as the Smurfs, and children carrying banners, such as ‘Keep Britain Tidy’. Then come girl majorettes, children in fancy dress, and floats, one for the Smurfs.
The next part of the film features the family on a beach. It then shows a 125 locomotive pulling out of a station, followed by a diesel engine pulled passenger train and a steam train (locomotive 5305). The film finishes at a steam traction fair, and a brief police dog display at a stadium.
