Yorkshire Day 2019
YFA worked in partnership with the York BID to bring the rich film heritage of the city to the big screen, especially for Yorkshire Day 2019. Our team curated a special selection of short films from the YFA vaults, which played on a loop throughout the day, projected onto a giant screen in St Sampson’s Square.
Deckchairs were set up around the square, tempting tourists and residents alike to settle down and immerse themselves in an hour-long compilation of archive footage, which included football at Bootham Crescent in the 1950s, the story of the Jorvik Viking Centre in the 1980s and moving images of York’s chocolate and railway heritage.
